ALLISON LACROSS, CNM, DNP
Allie (she/her/hers) comes to WHA with eight years of midwifery experience at a practice in the Bronx. She practices full-scope midwifery. También, se habla español! She attended Columbia University for her midwifery degree and stayed on to pursue her doctorate. She is published in various academic journals and media outlets and was on staff as an Assistant Professor in the departments of nursing and midwifery with Columbia over the last five years.
She is deeply committed to providing respectful, equitable and integrative care to all people. She has advocated for the rights and empowerment of pregnant people as a NYC DOH birth equity champion, as a H+H Simulation Fellow for the maternal morbidity and mortality reduction committee, participated in several global maternal health conferences, and raised donation funds as a charity advocate for Every Mother Counts by running three marathons (NYC twice and Boston).
Allie believes midwifery is truly a calling and artfully balances the science of modern medicine with the intuitive and deeply connective process of birth. She strives to provide you with thoughtful, evidence-based and empowering care experiences.
Allie loves to spend her time being outdoors by the ocean, running, hiking, and skiing. She savors a delicious cup of coffee or yerba mate tea, a good book, and all things travel. Allie is a Scorpio and enjoys talking anything astrology and moon cycles. She lives in Southern CT with her “mid-“husband.
